The biggest online poker series in history is just around the corner! Beginning on Sept. 3rd, the Pokerstars WCOOP will start, with 45 events and a $40 million guaranteed prize pool. Satellite tournaments for events are running now, and they start at just $1 or 100 Frequent Player Points.
The selection of game varieties at the 2009 Pokerstars WCOOP are better than ever before. In fact, 22 of the 45 events will not be NL Hold’em tournaments. There are Omaha, Stud, 2-7 triple draw, 2-7 single draw, Badugi, Razz, and a number of mixed game tournaments to play in. Of course, that means there are still 23 NL Hold’em events available since the majority of players still prefer this game. With that said, there are short-handed, heads-up, shootouts, and different blind structure variations that will be run.
Most events have direct buy-ins that range from $109 – $530. All of them offer satellites though, so if you want to win a cheap seat, it can be done. There are 10 events with direct buy-ins that range from $1,050 to $25,500. These include the Main Event with a direct buy-in of $5,200 and a whopping $10 million guaranteed prize pool.
There is also a $25,500 High Roller NL Hold’em event in case you have that kind of money stuck between your couch cushions. If not, satellite tournaments are available for this huge tournament.
Overall, there are 14 events with guaranteed prize pools of at least $1 million, and 31 events with $400,000 or more. If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to make some huge money, this is the time.
